17TH PAN AFRICAN BIBLICAL CONGRESS OF: BAMENDA, CAMEROON 8-15 SEPTEMBER 2015: The 17th Congress of the Pan African Association of Catholic Exegets (PACE) will take place in the Cameroon, in the Archdiocese of Bamenda from 8-15 September 2015. Top African Biblical scholars, including 3 Cardinals, are expected to attend this Congress, the first in Bamenda. A local Steering Committee has been put in place to prepare for this august assembly.Liturgy, lodging, catering, souvernirs, health and publicitiy.

CELEBRATING THE 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PROVINCIAL PASTORAL PLAN: SACRED HEART COLLEGE MANKON: 16-19 DEC. 2015: The Bishops of the Bamenda Ecclesiastical Province have made public their decision to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Provincial Pastoral Plan in Sacred Heart College, Mankon from Wednesday 16 through Saturday 19 December 2015. To attend will be all the 6 bishops of the Province, the Secretary General of BAPEC; all the Vicars General; 2 Representatives from the Provincial and Diocesan Executive of the Association of Diocesan Priests; 2 Representatives from the Provincial and Diocesan EXCO of Religious of the Bamenda Ecclesiastical Province;  Provincial Health & BEPHA Cordinators; 2 Representatives each from Catholic University  of Bamenda, Kumbo and Mamfe; Catholic University Institute of Buea; St Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary, Bambui; St John Paul II Major Seminary Bachuo Ntai; Diocesan Pastoral Formation Team; Diocesan Pastoral Councils (Deans &Secretaries, 2 per Commission from all the Dioceses); President and Secretary of five recognized prayer and action groups from each diocese; Diocesan Heads of Services (Education, Social Communications; Youth, Family Life, Justice and Peace; Social Welfare, BEPHA, Health); 4 Catholic Teachers per diocese; 2 Catechists per Diocese; Resource Persons. A total of 465 delegates are expected.

APPOINTMENT OF MGR GEORGE TOMRILA  NGALIM AS VICAR GENERAL ADJUNCT:  By circular  J-511/C/15/013 of Monday 20 July 2015, His Grace Cornelius Fontem Esua has appointed Mgr George Tomrila Ngalim as Vicar General Adjunct, to act ad bene placitum nostrum, according to the norms of Canon Law. He is granted full power, faculties, privileges, honours and precedence, which are given to the Vicar General by law and by diocesan policies and custom. As Vicar General Adjunct he is assigned the following duties:
a) The Implementation of the Provincial Pastoral Plan
b) Vicar for Religious; Consecrated Laity and Catechists.


YEAR OF THE CONSECRATED LIFE: Pope Francis declared a Year of the Consecrated Life which began on 30 Nov. 2014 and will close on 2 February Feast of the Presentation, 2016. In the Archdiocese of Bamenda, there is a steering Committee to organize this year:

In accordance with the request of Pope Benedict XVI in his Post Synodal Exhortation Africae Munus,  the  Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar. SECAM, HAS DECLARED 29 JULY 2015-29 JULY 2016 as the extraordinary year for reconciliation in Africa.
