The Archdiocese of Bamenda has a Director of Communication, Fr Tatah Humphrey Mbuy, trained in the Facolta di Scienze della Comunicazione of the Pontifical Salesian University, Rome. He supervises and coordinates all the organs of communication. At the moment, there is Radio Evangelium, T.V. Evangelium and Documentation, the Archdiocesan Website and Internet Connectiivity, the Archdiocesan Print Media, the Archdiocesan Book Centre. In the pipeline, there is the Archdiocesan Newspaper. Each of these organs has a Manager and a team of workers. However, communication is one of the 18 commissions which form part of the Pastoral Plan, the template for evangelization in the Archdiocese of Bamenda. This commission like every other begins from the Small Christian Community, through Mission, Parish and Deanery Commissions to the Archdiocesan Communication Commission, the present Chairperson being Mr RICHARD NDEH LAJONG.
We live in a world where media influence the way people think, act and visualize life. Ours is a digital information era where the information superhighway is loaded So, it suffices to browse through the desired sites. We live with digital natives who believe whatever they get on their internet social networks. They are more at home communicating in this way and over cell phones than encountering people face to face. The task of the Church in the Archdiocese of Bamenda is to evangelize this media world in and through her own organs of communications. Therefore the Archdiocese of Bamenda runs different means of communications with only one aim -
